Markus Egger

“Evo Sports is a standout in youth development. My children thrived there, benefiting from top coaching, a strong culture, and a fun yet competitive environment. Their commitment to player growth is exceptional.

Through my role at Aspire, I’ve seen first-hand the great relationship between our organisations, fostering opportunities that elevate young athletes in Qatar. Evo’s impact on my children and many others is undeniable, shaping future talent with professionalism and care.”

Director of Sport and Strategy at Aspire Academy, Former General Manager at Red Bull Football.

Ivan Bravo

“Evo has played an important role in Qatar’s football grassroots growth over the past 20 years. The dynamic, high-participation football ecosystem we see today in Qatar at the youth level could not be understood without the work that Evo started back in 2007. Today, we benefit in the country from the proliferation of private grassroots academies that provide sports education and competition opportunities for Qatar’s youth. Evo was the first private academy to provide local residents such opportunities in a nurturing way. We at Aspire have always believed that grassroots football needed to reach mass participation levels in Qatar with early-age training and competitions accessible to all as to expand the talent pool at the base of the pyramid for the development and growth of Qatar’s football culture. We commend Evo for their contribution to that process and their long-serving presence in the community.”

Director General, Aspire Academy and former Director of Strategy at Real Madrid CF

Aron Gunnarsson

“Entrusting my children’s development to Evo Sports has been a rewarding decision. The academy’s holistic approach, focusing on both athletic prowess and personal growth, ensures that young athletes receive comprehensive guidance. Evo’s nurturing environment fosters not just skilled players, but well-rounded individuals.”

Professional Footballer for Al Gharafa, former Cardiff City and Coventry City player, and Iceland International.

Hassan Al Thawadi

“The success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was built on a vision that extended far beyond hosting a tournament—it was about leaving a lasting legacy for football development in Qatar and across the region. Grassroots football has always been at the heart of this vision, and Evo Sports has been a key contributor to its growth. Since its inception in 2007, Evo has played an integral role in expanding youth participation, setting a model for private academies, and strengthening Qatar’s footballing culture from the ground up. When Qatar launched its bid to host the World Cup, Evo was highlighted as a case study of how grassroots football could thrive in the region. It demonstrated how structured coaching, community engagement, and competitive opportunities could create a sustainable football culture. Evo’s pioneering work in youth development showcased Qatar’s commitment to making football accessible to all, a core principle that shaped our successful bid. Beyond their influence in grassroots development, Evo played a direct role in delivering the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 youth programme, helping to engage young players, coaches, and volunteers in the world’s greatest footballing event. Their involvement reinforced the idea that the World Cup was more than a tournament—it was a catalyst for inspiring the next generation. At the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, we remain committed to ensuring that the momentum from the World Cup continues to drive football development in Qatar. Evo’s contribution to this journey has been invaluable, and their ongoing work ensures that the legacy of 2022 will continue to shape the future of football in our country for years to come.”
