Code of Conduct Parents & Carers

The Essentials

  • Proper Kit: Ensure your child arrives with the correct kit for their session, along with enough food and drink to keep them fuelled.
  • Punctuality: Make sure your child arrives on time and is collected promptly. If you are running late or someone else is picking up your child, inform us in advance.
  • Protective Gear: Ensure your child wears any required protective equipment for their sport.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with your child’s coach and stay engaged in their development.
  • Concerns: If you have any concerns about your child’s participation, speak to us—we are here to listen and support.

Behaviour Expectations

  • Learn About the Sport: Take an interest in your child’s sport and understand what it means to them.
  • Discuss Goals: Talk with your child about their sporting goals, ensuring they align with their interests and motivations.
  • Focus on Benefits: Recognise that sport is about more than winning—it’s about friendships, fitness, skill development, and enjoyment.
  • Listen: If your child expresses disinterest in an activity, take the time to understand why.
  • Positive Sidelines: Encourage and support all young athletes from the sidelines, ensuring your presence is positive and uplifting.
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate good behaviour at matches and training, setting the standard for other parents.
  • Respect Staff: Treat all Evo Sports staff with courtesy and respect.
  • Respect Officials: Accept the decisions made by officials and refrain from interfering with the game or training session.
  • Responsible Social Media Use: When discussing the club online, behave respectfully, just as you would in person.
  • Promote Etiquette: Encourage your child to demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect the rules, and play fairly.

Rights of Parents

As a parent at Evo Sports, you have the right to:

  • Be assured that your child is safe and safeguarded during their time with us.
  • Access our policies and procedures at any time.
  • Know who our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is and have their contact details.
  • Be involved and contribute to decisions within the club.
  • Be informed about the training and qualifications of our coaching staff.
  • Be notified of any problems or concerns regarding your child.
  • Be informed of and have access to records of accidents or injuries involving your child.
  • Have your consent sought for activities outside of standard agreements, such as trips and special events.
  • Have any concerns about your child’s welfare listened to and addressed appropriately.

Commitment

We expect all parents to adhere to this Code of Conduct to ensure a positive and supportive environment for all young athletes. Any behaviour that contradicts these principles will be addressed promptly to protect the welfare and enjoyment of all participants.

Persistent issues or serious breaches may result in parents being asked not to attend sessions if their presence negatively impacts the experience of young learners. Repeated concerns may, as a last resort, lead to the regrettable necessity of asking a child to leave Evo Sports, though we always seek to resolve matters constructively before reaching this point.

We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to making Evo Sports a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive place for all young athletes!
