Evo 9's returns this weekend!

The Evo 9’s was formed last year to provide a competitive league format for our U16 development teams as well as the U14 A1's. Held at our ISL centre on Tuesday nights, the coaches saw this an opportunity for our young learners to have the ‘real match’ experience that is essential for the development in youth football.

Such was the successful of that Evo 9’s mini league that this term it has expanded to include all U14 and U16 development teams at Evolution Soccer. Three leagues have formed and include two Under 14 and one Under 16 league. The Under 14 leagues take place on Saturdays at Doha College Al Waab while the Under 16 league competes on the same day at our ISL centre. It is now the largest games program in Evo Soccer’s ten-year history with over 150 of our young learners taking part in competitive 9 a side football every three weeks.

The opportunity to play in the Evo 9’s fixtures gives our young learners a new experience on a larger competitive scale. They have met and competed against different teams from all three centres and it has given them all this vital ‘real match’ experience. Competing in this games program reinforces the key benefits of playing youth football at Evolution Soccer.

The atmosphere at each different Evo 9’s league has been electric with all players striving to do the best that they can for their team but also their centre. When taking to the field they represent the philosophy of the club and their coach. Every team taking part has formed a bond where they strive to play and work together in order to succeed as best they can. It is an experience that we hope will stay with them for many years to come.

The hunger to play competitive football from our players is not surprising but what has been is they way they are now bringing it to every training session. Upcoming fixtures, table rankings and top goal scorers are all hot topics of conversations during the sessions and it has been great to see that all the effort put into training has been rewarded with a match day experience for all players.

Of course non of this would be possible with the continued support of the Evo parents. Every match day families have come down to support their child and their team which has been fantastic to witness.

The next round of fixtures are held on Saturday 18th March. If you wish to come down and watch a couple of matches please keep an eye out on our Evo Soccer Facebook page where upcoming fixtures are posted a week in advance of the Evo 9’s.
